The day after Jonah Wheeler was murdered by Kandy Barrett, Jake woke up wondering why his brother wasn't at home. He had shouted out for him several times and had gotten no response. He knew that given his older brother's age, that he shouldn't be overly worried, he had a life of his own to lead. However, he was used to Jonah being at home and so yes, he was a little put out by the fact that there was no sign of his brother at home. He didn't have a girlfriend or a partner, so it's not as though he would have stayed overnight at her home instead. So he called Rori and she had come round almost straight away and now they were both in the lounge room, hot chocolate in cups and generally chatting about where his brother might be.
“When did you last see Jonah?” Rori asked, and Jake shrugged, “Last night before he went on his turn of the community patrol.” Jake replied and sighed, as he sipped on his drink. Any other time his brother always returned home and though he would wake up a bit later than himself, he was always at home. By now his brother would have been up and about and been making his own breakfast. “You don't think that he just decided to stay over at a mate's house or something?” Asked Rori trying to be as sensible about it as possible, rather than going into something awful. Jake shrugged once more, “I doubt it, he's never done that before and even if he had, he would have sent me a text to tell me, so I'd know when I woke up.” Rori sighed gently, and shook her head. She wasn't sure what else to suggest, and now there wasn't much else she could do to help either. She reached over and took one of his hands in her own and squeezed it, “I'm sure you're worrying over nothing, he'll be fine.” Jake wished he could be that positive about it. He just knew that his brother was a creature of habit, and for him to suddenly not be at home, was a very worrying thing indeed.
“When you know your brother's routine, it's not easy to not worry Rori. We know that some of the residents have been getting killed. What if that's happened to him? He's the only family I have left. I'll be the only one of my line and I'll be all alone.” He really wasn't thinking straight, on the fact that he had Rori, and that he had imprinted on her. Then thinking about that, he realised he hadn't even told her or Ryder about the fact that he had also imprinted on him too. All those weird and confusing dreams that he kept having about her twin brother as well as her. They had really confused him. Rori gave him a bit of a stern look, “Well thanks for that. If you're going to be all alone, then why am I here?” She withdrew her hand, feeling a little upset. Jake snapped out of his funk and took her hand back, “That's not what I meant. I know I have you. I just meant that I'd be the last of my family, of the Wheeler's.” Sure, if he and Rori were ever blessed with kids of their own, they might have a son that can carry on his name, but for now, he was the last of them.
Rori sighed, “It's okay, but you'll never be alone. Not only do you have me, you have Ryder and my dad, you know fine well he sees you as a second son anyway.” Jake looked up and gave her a bit of a smile and nodded, “Yeah I do and that's really sweet and all, but Jonah is my blood, that's a strong bond, especially among the wolf pack.” Rori couldn't admit that she fully understood that, what with not being a part of the wolf pack. However, she had seen how Jake and the other lads who were part of his pack acted together at the school. They were like brothers anyway, even though not by blood. “I guess so. Well, let's hope that he just went off for a run as a wolf and found a spot to curl up asleep and forgot all about time.” Jake nodded, and smiled, starting to think like Rori, as it was easier on his heart to do so, “Yeah, yeah you're right. I'm being daft.”

Lucifer was off out for a walk to stretch his legs, he did this often, especially when his club generally only opened in the evenings, so he needed something to do during the day. Usually he did this walk to see if there were any naughty people around that he could punish. He really did like punishing people. Pandora lately however, never seemed to have anybody that he could do that with. Well, he would go and make a deal with the Campbell witches so that his demons would behave, wouldn't he? Still, it didn't stop other creatures from being naughty, did it? After about twenty minutes out and about, he realised that everyone was either working or at home, and not really up to much, so it was pointless being out. He decided to go for a drink at the local coffee shop, not really watching where he was going as he cut across the green and stumbled over something. “Bloody hell!” He muttered out aloud to nobody in particular, then seeing what he had stumbled over, added, “For the love of hell, you could have waited until you got home to drop your drunken arse off to sleep.” On closer inspection however, he noticed that it was Jonah Wheeler. One of the older wolves from the pack, and he was one of the good ones, one of the ones that did everything by the book.
Realising that he hadn't moved or even winced when he had tripped up over him, he bent over to take a closer look and then saw the hole in his chest cavity and the fact that his heart was gone. He leant back onto his heals. There was only one person that did that and usually when they were trying to leave him a sign. Why had she chosen Jonah Wheeler? He had done nothing wrong and didn't deserve to meet an end like that. If he ever go this hands on her, he would definitely take her out for good. Clearly no amount of locking her up in hell ever worked. The soon as she got any sort of rope to play with, she was off at her worst one more. The most annoying thing about knowing who had done this, was the fact that he didn't know where the bloody hell she was, or what body she had assumed. He was going to need the help of Rori, Ryder and Nick to find out where she was exactly, and who she was. As this was clearly just a start for her.
He bent down, scooped up Jonah's body respectfully and carried him to the police station, they had a mortuary that they could place the body in. He explained where he had found him, and what they were to do and to say nothing to anybody and especially not to John, until he had spoken to young Jake. They agreed, knowing not to argue the point with Lucifer Morningstar and he took himself off to the Wheeler home, hoping that Jake would be there. He rang the bell and it was opened a few seconds later, not by Jake, but by Aurora. He gave her a small smile. “Aurora, I assume that Jake is at home also, since you are here?” Rori smiled and nodded, “Yeah, he called me over as he was worried about Jonah not coming home. I finally just got him to calm down and to think that he likely just fell asleep after a run in wolf form.” Lucifer looked at her gravely and shook his head.
Rori's eyes opened wide and she too shook her head, “No, please don't say that something has happened. You've got to be wrong.” However, Luci just continued to shake his head, “I'm afraid not. I never lie, remember. I found his body earlier. I took it to the police mortuary. Can I come in and talk to Jake?” Rori opened the door and stood aside, biting on her bottom lip, to stop herself from crying. “Of course, be prepared though, he is not going to take this news well at all.” Luci nodded, “I expect as much. After I have spoken to him, I need to talk to you, Ryder and Nick, I need your help and now that this has happened to Jonah, I need to get to the bottom of the mystery sooner than later.” Rori nodded, “Sure, of course.” She closed the door behind them, and followed him into the lounge. “Jake, Lucifer is here, he needs to talk to you.” She stood back, and let Lucifer carry on. After trying to convince Jake that his brother was fine, she wasn't sure that she could stomach to see the look on his face when Lucifer told him what he had found earlier.

John had been on his break when Lucifer had brought Jonah's body into the station's mortuary and when he was informed about it on his return, he was pissed off and cursed out loudly. This was one of his own that was lying in that mortuary chamber and he should have been the one to let Jake know about his brother. So he was even more pissed when he found out that Lucifer was going to tell the young lad himself. Well, no the fucking hell he wasn't. He yelled at the desk officer, that he was going out and not sure when he would back. He jumped into his car and he broke his own set speed limit to get to the Wheeler home in the hope that he would get there before Lucifer opened his fucking English gob. Not that he was against the guy, but he did sometimes get his nose stuck into things that weren't always his job to do so and this was definitely not his job.
Literally two minutes after Lucifer had arrived at the Wheeler home, John was hammering on the door with his fist and then ringing the bell as well. Making it clear that he needed to get in there urgently. Once more Rori opened the door, just one look at John's face and she knew that he knew. “Rori, please don't tell me that Lucifer's already fucking told him? It should be me damn it, it should be me.” Rori gave him a sad smile and shook her head. “Not yet, he was just about to, you better come in.” John wiped at his forehead, only slightly feeling relief, “Thank god for that. It's a wolf thing you know, he has no other kin apart from the pack, and it should be one of us, and me especially, as alpha that should tell him, not fucking Lucifer Morningstar.” He walked into the lounge then, “It's okay, I've got it from here.” He grunted and cocked his head to the side, to tell Luci to get the hell away from his wolf.
Lucifer sighed, and rolled his eyes, remembering that he probably shouldn't have gotten involved like this. Wolves and their wolf pack thing. He made his way out to the door, “Forgive me for sparing you the sordid details. Don't worry, I haven't had a chance to say a thing. I'll tell you something though, I know who bloody did this.” John narrowed his eyes, “Who?” Lucifer walked further away from the lounge, so that Jake nor Rori could hear and added, “Pretty sure this is Lilith. The way that Jonah was killed, the heart being removed, that's her kind of thing. Trouble is, I can't bloody sense her, as she's got a cloaking spell on. But don't worry, I'm going to have Rori, Ryder and Nick on it. Together they're the strongest witches we've got, if anybody is going to get her uncloaked, it will be them.” John nodded, and grunted, “Whatever, do what you got to do, leave Jake to me.” Luci put his hands up in surrender, and then left John to it with the kids. Really sensitive bunch, thought Luci as he left, honestly.
Now that they were alone, John walked into the lounge, and Jake stood up. The look on the alpha's was fairly easy to read, but then even before Lucifer had said something, the look on Rori's face had painted a dreadful picture also. She had tried to make him believe that nothing had happened to his brother, but he knew different. It was a wolf's instinct thing. They were creatures of habit, the fact that Jonah hadn't come home, he knew that it spelled trouble. He had just hoped that maybe he was injured instead. Though that in itself would be weird, as they were healers, unless he had been poisoned with wolfsbane, that was the only thing that could weaken a wolf and could eventually kill them.
John put his hand on Jake's shoulder, “I've got something to tell you and you're not going to like it. You best sit down lad.” But Jake shook his head, standing tall, “No, I can't, I can't even move.” That was true, he was frozen to the spot. Even the look on John's face told him everything that he needed to know. He usually didn't cry, but right now, he didn't give a stinking jot about boys not supposed to cry, tears were smarting while his head continued to shake. “No, no, it's not true, it can't be. He's not, he can't be, he can't be.” He wailed, as his legs gave way and John caught him, to steady him. Meanwhile Rori was standing by the lounge door, finger in her mouth, tears streaming from her eyes, unsure what to do, how to help. She wasn't a wolf, and even though he had imprinted on her, and they were bonded, not that she still fully understood that, she felt helpless. This wasn't something she knew about. Even if she did, she'd be hopeless, she was a mess herself. She had known Jonah long enough to know that he was a sensitive soul, with a great sense of humour. He had raised his kid brother after their folks had died. It had just been Jonah and Jake for a long time. The pain that her boyfriend must be feeling would be second to none.
John placed Jake down onto the sofa and he sat next to him. “I'm sorry but yes. That's what Lucifer was coming to tell you, but I sure as hell wasn't letting him do it. Not in his place. I'm so sorry Jake lad. I really am.” John knew that Jonah was Jake's last living blood relative. So now the lad was all alone, no parents, no siblings, no grandparents. He was the last living Wheeler. Jake was distraught, tears were running down his cheeks. “But why? Why Jonah? He was a good one. What, what, how?” He said, stumbling over his words. Finding this really hard to digest. “I'm not even sure you want to know how lad. It might be best to spare you the finer details.” But to this Jake stood up, “I need to know, tell me for fuck's sake, how?” He screamed, all of his emotions heightened, sadness mixed with rage, sadness for the loss of his brother, rage for who took his life.
John grabbed his arm, “Calm down Jake. Your anger is not going to do anything. You can't take on who did this, not if it's who Lucifer seems to think it is. I really don't want to tell you how. But I do know that we will find out who did this, and they will pay, I assure you. They will pay.” Jake was shaking, the anger and sadness was consuming him, he began to pace back and forth. “No, tell me, tell me how, just tell me how it happened!” He demanded, and Rori was so upset watching the scene that she slid down the door frame, until she on the floor with her knees hunched up and hugging them, still feeling like nothing she could say or do would help him. Earlier she had been almost teasing him over the whole being left alone thing. She was trying to make light of the situation but never did she dream that Jonah might actually be dead and he was Jake's last family member. Of course he was going to feel alone even if he really wasn't. It's exactly how she would feel if her father and Ryder were taken from her now.
John ran his hand through his hair, Jake wasn't going to let it drop, was he? “His heart was ripped out of his chest, but I'm not sure that's all it was. It looked like he had been tortured for quite some time, probably with wolfsbane. The toxin report will find that out for sure.” Jake crumbled, it wasn't fair. Jonah was a great guy, he always had been, he didn't deserve that. “I want to see him.” He finally said, which brought Rori round to her senses. She looked up from where she was still crouched on the floor. “I, I, I'm not sure that's a good thing.” She managed to say through her tears, this made John focus on her for once. He made his way over to her and lifted her to her feet. “Sorry sweetheart, was so focused on the lad, didn't think how this would affect you. You okay?” She shrugged and nodded her head slightly, “I, I, well, I'm not the one that's lost a beloved family member, I just feel bad for Jake.” He gave her a hug, then turned to Jake, “She's right, I don't think you should see him.” But Jake wasn't going to take no for an answer, “No dammit, I need to. Take me please John. I need to see him, I need to say goodbye in my own way.” John gave a nod of his head, “Sure kid, if that's what you feel you need. I'll be there with you though, got it? You ain't gonna be doing that alone.” He looked at Rori, pulling out of the embrace slightly, “You want to come too sweetheart? I'm sure Jake could do with it.” She nodded, “I'll come, of course.”
Having finally composed herself enough, she walked towards Jake, and he just fell into her, sobbing his heart out, and all she could do was to wrap her arms around him, and her own tears began to fall once more. Meanwhile, John led the two of them out of the home, grabbing the keys that were hanging by the door, and locked it. All three of them then made their way to the station, not that John was looking forward to it, but if it's what the kid wanted, and needed, then so be it.

All three of them were now at the station, John signed both Jake and Rori in as visitors, quickly explained the situation to the desk officer and guided the both of them to the mortuary, where Jonah's body would remain until the medical examiner had carried out his autopsy. Not that it needed that to know what had killed him, the removal of his heart. Still, they could get a toxin screen done and they would find out much more information hopefully.
Standing outside the room, John decided to give Jake one final out. “You don't need to do this lad, you know I can verify it's Jonah, he's one of mine too remember.” Jake looked up at him slowly, with sad eyes, and nodded. “I know, but I have to. I won't get peace or feel like I've said goodbye if I don't do it.” John put his hand on Jake's shoulder and patted it a few times. “Fair enough Jake.” He opened the door to the lab, gave a nod of his head to the M.E., and they made their exit, leaving the three of them alone. Jonah's body was lying on the table, with a cover over his lower half, keeping his modesty. The hole in his chest was clear to see, but other than that, he actually looked peaceful, as though he were sleeping, only a little on the grey side, not looking as rosy as he usually does.
Rori had taken Jake's hand and she squeezed at it a little, which he returned, but he didn't, couldn't look at her. He was fearful that if he did, he would lose it all over again. At least, this way, he could just about hold it together. He began to talk, not really to anybody, “Who did this to you bro? Who? I swear you will not have died in vain. We will get to the bottom of this and we will make sure that they don't do this to another one of us.” Jake then put his hand on Jonah's arm and squeezed it, cold and lifeless. Not like how a wolf should feel. They should feel warm, warmer than the average human and they were full of life. Then in the blink of an eye from feeling this great sadness, anger rushed through him once more. “It's not fair damn it, you were my last family member Jonah, you had no fucking right to leave me, none. You swore to me you never would, you swore to me.” He began to use his fists, having withdrawn his hand from Aurora and pummelled into Jonah's lifeless body. Rori couldn't do anything, she was hurting for Jake far too much to be of any use, she just sank onto the floor of the lab. It was John that had to take control.
He moved in, pulled Jake away and held him. “You're right, we will find out who did it. But we'll do it the right way. I don't want you going fucking rogue on me Jake, you hear me? Keep your bloody shit together. Jonah's dead and it's fucking rotten, and he's the last of your blood, but he's not the last of the wolves. Together we will honour him and as Captain of the precinct, I promise we will get who did this and make sure that they never ever do this to anyone again.” Jake was shaking so much, but he appreciated what John was saying. As angry as he was, he would never go rogue, never go against the pack's wishes. He knew what he needed to do, he needed to get to the gym and use that punching bag, take all his hurt and anger out on it instead. He would not embarrass the alpha by going rogue and trying to take care of Jonah's killer alone. Besides, he didn't even know who had done it, so it would be pointless. Seeing Rori on the floor in a state once more, John bent down and scooped her up with one arm, and hugged her to him along with Jake.
Together all three of them stayed in that embrace for several moments, both Jake and Rori crying like there was no tomorrow, until their ducts had to be empty. John keeping his composure, but dying on the inside, for the loss of one of his own, for Jake, for Rori and yes, for himself. For losing a wolf from his pack was almost like losing a kid. After about ten or so minutes, John gently unfolded himself from both of them and held Jake at arm's length, “You good kid? How are you Rori?” Jake nodded, “Better, kinda.” Rori nodded, “I'm okay, I'm just hurting for him.” John nodded, “You will be, I am too.” He put his arm around Rori, as Jake had gone back to his brother's body.
He was standing at his face, looking down. “I love you Jonah, you were all I had for the longest part of my life. I don't know what life will be like without you, but I promise to make you as proud of me as I can. Sleep easy my brother.” He then leant down and kissed him on the forehead and brushed his hair from his face, that had fallen over his eyes. As he did this, Rori moved closer, having broken free from John's protective arm, and put her hands above the area, closing her eyes, she quietly thought of white rose petals, and suddenly, they were falling from her hands and falling on top of Jonah's body. “I wish that you could have become my older brother too, in a way you kind of were, but I had hoped we could have made it official one of these days. I promise I will look after Jake, I will be the sister that you had always wanted.” Tears began to fall from her eyes once more and Jake looked across at her, wonder over his face, love in his eyes. “He loved you Rori. Twice he asked when I was going to make an honest woman of you. Made me laugh, we're not even twenty yet. He knew that we were for keeps though. He won't be best man now and that hurts.”
John came over then, hand over his heart, and one on Jonah's head, “Rest easy brother. I will take care of Jake and Rori, I promise. Love you.” They all stayed side by side, the petals now having stopped, Jake took one of Rori's hands and then John took her other, together they just stood watching with an easy silence. They stood like this for several moments when the door was knocked on and then opened slowly. It was the desk officer, to tell them that there was someone at the reception wanting to speak to him as he had information that he felt was important. John looked at him with an eyebrow risen, “Can't you see we're in the middle of bloody something here?” But they were insistent and then whispered into his ear what the person wanted. Well, that was different. “Right you are. Can you take the kids off some place please? Give them pizza or something whatever they want? I don't want Jake here when I talk to them.” The desk officer nodded, and John made his way through to the interview room that this person was waiting.
When he opened the door, he recognised the face immediately. It was Lana Chandler's partner Vincent Scully, or Vince as he was known. “Vince, what can I do for you? I was told you had some information about Jonah's death?” Vince nervously nodded his head. He was a little worried about telling him, being a vampire, a wolf's heart being ripped out could easily have been him, or any of his kind. It wasn't of course, but it didn't make him any less nervous. “I saw it happen.” He said simply. John sat forward, arms folded across his chest, “Right, tell me more.” He knew that Vince was a vampire, and they and wolves don't usually get on, but in Pandora they had this unspoken rule that they kept the peace with one another. John could tell however, that Vince was worried he'd think that he was the one that had killed Jonah. “You can rest Vince, I know it wasn't you or any of your kind. Lucifer seems to know who it was, but since you seen it happen, then you can elaborate, can't you?”
Vince nodded and sighed with a bit of relief. He had never been the type of vampire to go about killing people. He didn't have to do it. He got his blood from the blood banks. As much as he might be seen as a monster he was too soft, to go about killing people and he definitely didn't believe in drinking from the vein. He had never known how to feed any other way than from blood bags. He even ate normal food as well, it was just that it didn't sustain him like blood can. “She's blonde, and goes by the name of Kandy as far as I'm aware. Supposed to be an actress, not that I've seen her in anything. Kandy Barrett, that's it. I had been out walking Zeus and on my way back when I saw the altercation between Jonah and her. Was about to interject, but it all happened so quickly and by the time I began to walk towards them, she had ripped into his chest and she was gone. I know I should have come and reported it, but for a vampire, I was quite shocked. I couldn't even tell Lana. I just got in, and went straight to bed with a view to coming and reporting it today, which is why I'm here now.”
John mulled that information over in his head. Kandy Barrett. Lucifer mentioned Lilith. That the heart being ripped out was a Lilith calling card. So, wait, could it be that Lilith and Kandy are one in the same then? Lucifer had said that he couldn't sense Lilith, meaning she was cloaked, but if the heart ripping out was a Lilith thing and Vince said he seen Kandy do it, it had to be that she was Lilith. Though, it could just be that she was a demon, it wouldn't be the first time that a demon ripped someone's heart out of their chest. Hell a wolf could do and a vamp for that matter. Still, that was food for thought. “That sure is good to know Vince, thanks mate. I wish you had come sooner though, that was one of my own, and I'd have liked to have been informed sooner. Never mind though. That will hopefully help carry this investigation forward. Thanks.” Vince stood up and gave a nod of his head. “Sure and sorry for your loss, I hope you get her and make her pay for what she did.” He left then, and John went on the phone immediately calling through to James. Filling him in on what he had just found out and sent him to go and talk to Lucifer about it, while he went to get Jake and Rori and spend more time with them, leaving the station in the capable hands of Rachel.
While John spent some time with Jake and Rori at the cafe, James had called in on Lucifer as requested by John. He was now inside, and like last time, Luci offered James a drink. “Tea, coffee, something stronger?” He asked, and James shook his head. “Didn't we go over this the last time? I don't drink on the job, so coffee will be fine thanks and only three sugars, in case you don't remember, I'm not sweet enough.” Luci chuckled, “I remembered, coffee coming up.” A few minutes later, he handed over a mug and sat down. “So, what can I do you for this time James?” Luci asked, as he himself sipped on a Scotch, his drink of choice, always.
“Well as you know, Jonah Wheeler is dead, as you found his body this morning. Well, a witness came forward, Vincent Scully and...” He trailed off as Luci had put his hand up to stop him. “Vince, that's Lana's partner. He saw who did it? Why didn't he come to me?” No sooner did he say that though, he realised why not, because it was about a wolf death and hadn't John already told him off for not going to him about it earlier? Shaking his head, he waved his hand, “Sorry, forgot that John would be his first port of call, of course. Carry on.” James gave him a bit of a smile and nodded his head.
“Well, he said that he seen a blonde having an altercation with Jonah. Then he recalled her name, Kandy Barrett.” Luci tilted his head to the side, and raised his eyebrow, “Well, well, so, we might have just found out who Kandy really is then. That ripping the heart out, true, any demon or wolf or vampire can do that, but the way that it was done, it was a Lilith thing. So, Kandy and Lilith might be the same person after all. Still, until we see if there is a cloak on her and get it lifted, I can't tell for sure. Bloody hell. If it is her, then the sooner we get to the bottom of it, the better. We can't have her doing that to anybody else in the town.” James nodded, “Agreed. So, where do we go from here then?” Luci downed his drink and poured himself another, and twirled his thumbs around one another as he thought.
“Well, Lana did find out that the magic cloaking Kandy is very strong, which means it was carried out by a dark arts witch. It will take a very strong witch to break it or find out who Kandy really is. Remember when I spoke to you about the possibility of your kids and mine being some sort of trinity of magic? Do you think that we could finally get them to try and break this cloak? If this is Lilith, we need to find out sooner than later, before she takes someone else from us.” James gave a bit of a smile as he thought back to that conversation that he had with Lucifer. He hadn't even gotten round to telling the kids about that. Though he didn't doubt for one single moment that they wouldn't want to do what they could to help. He nodded, “I remember, not spoken to them yet though. But I really should. I can imagine that the will want to do anything. After all, Jonah was like another brother to Rori, I'm sure she's taken that news just as hard as Jake has.”
It did make him wonder if anybody even knew where this Kandy even lived in the town. It was almost like she had just appeared. Did that happen in this place? Did new people just suddenly show up? Well, he supposed they did, hadn't he and Rori just turn up? “Do you even know where this Kandy lives? I'm not even sure if we have any record of that at the station, not that I've thought to look.” Now that it was possible that Kandy was responsible for the death of Jonah, getting a hold of her address might be a very beneficial thing. However, Luci shook his head. “I don't actually. I'm not sure of where everyone lives, only the ones that matter.” He winked and chuckled. Of course Lucifer knew where he lived, and his son and his mother. Those were probably the ones that mattered most to Lucifer. “Right, well, I better get looking through the records at the station, to see if there is anything listed. I suppose it could be that she just roams around, no need to actually live anywhere.” Luci put his hand up and nodded.
“You've a point there my friend. Demons typically don't need to sleep, so it's quite possible that she just languishes around the town, the woods being the most likely place.” James took a note of that, but still, it would do no harm to go back to the station to check the records anyway. “I'll check anyway, if not, then a trip to the woods might not be a bad thing.” He said, though the look on Lucifer's face told him that might not be a good idea. Luci did not want anybody else falling foul to this nasty woman, especially if she turned out to be Lilith. “No, you don't go anywhere near those bloody woods, do you hear me? If anybody is going to do that, it will be me. She can't do me any harm. She might be the mother of all demons, Lilith, but I'm the King of Hell, and nobody, not even her, can do any damage to me.” The more time that James spent with Lucifer, the more he was beginning to like him. Very strange, seeing how the first thought of living in the same town as the devil had shaken him to the core. Now, here he was having a coffee with him, and talking to him like he was his new best friend. Heck, maybe he was. So he raised his hand, “Fine, I'll not go and pursue her. I'll check for an address at the station though, just in case. I'll let you know if I find nothing. In the meantime I will make sure to talk to the kids about this trinity thing. Though, it might be only fitting and compassionate to leave it until after Jonah's funeral. They have more important matters to be dealing with first.”
With someone like Lilith, if it was indeed her, time was of the essence, and the sooner they got her dealt with the better, thought Luci, but at the same time, he could understand the empathy of James. Obviously it wasn't going to be an easy time for Rori, even though it was Jake that had lost his brother, Jonah was connected to Rori, what with she and Jake being a couple. “Of course, I understand, just know though, that if this is Lilith and she's starting to leave calling cards, Jonah might only be the first of many.” James nodded, taking a mental note of that. “Noted, we'll be sure to keep an extra eye open until after the funeral.” Not that he had any idea what it would be like. It would be the first supernatural one he will ever have attended. He had read about rituals that wolf packs had, so would that mean that Jonah's funeral would be some lavish weird ritual wolf thing then? “I'll get back to the station, and contact you about an address if there is one.” He finished his coffee and smiled, standing up. “Thanks Lucifer. You'll hear from me soon.” With that, he left, and made his way back to the station.
Once there, he went straight into the files on the computer and there was an address for pretty much every resident, many that he hadn't even met yet. It would seem that this was a big town indeed. But he found nothing for Kandy Barrett which he had half expected. So he called Lucifer and let him know, and he said he had thought as much and to leave it with him to deal with her, but only after the kids uncloaked her. So, once the funeral was over with, that would be the next thing that they would have to deal with. He wanted to go home and talk to Rori and Ryder about this trinity thing, but somehow, he didn't think it would be the right timing. He had to wait for Rori to get over her shock and sadness of Jonah's death first, and then he would feel it was the right time to talk to them.
