It was Jonah's turn for a bit of neighbourhood watch, he had been out for a few hours now. Every now and then, just for the freedom, he would shift into his wolf form and go for a run. Maybe not the best way to watch over the town, but with his wolf sight and wolf hearing, he could always remain very alert. He was in wolf form when he heard a rustling in the woods just up ahead of him. So silently, carefully padding, he shifted his way, making sure not to stand on any twigs and watched from behind a tree. More or less at this sort of time, everybody would be asleep, other than those who did the neighbourhood lookout. So, to hear someone, if it was indeed a someone, at this time, was alarming to say the least.
He kept his eyes firmly in the direction of the rustling and finally, the shadow grew closer and also bigger. So it wasn't a resident's pet on the prowl at all, this was a person, and as the figure drew nearer still, he noticed that it belonged to a female. It was a woman, what in hell was she doing out at this time, and what was she doing in the woods of all places? He decided to stay watching, what was she doing? He tried to move to get a better view, but it was hopeless, he couldn't see anything else, but he did notice that she had blonde hair. Wasn't that the woman that Lucifer was suspicious about? Maybe it was time to actually confront her properly, in his human form.
So he moved slightly further behind the tree, changed shape and threw on his pants and shirt that he always keeps in a fold away bag attached to his ankle. Once he was decent, he approached her, “What are you doing out at this time, you're not on neighbourhood watch.” He heard her sighing, but she the slowly turned to face him. With her hands on her hips she said in a clear voice and one with an edge of annoyance, “What business is it of yours young man? Plus, who do you think you are? My father?” Jonah raised his eyebrow, “Well, I should nope not, I'm clearly not old enough to be your father for fuck's sake.” Kandy made some tutting noises as she shook her head, “Now, now, is that any way to speak to a lady? I can't stand for a man who curses in such a way.” Jonah grunted under his breath, “You didn't answer my question, why are you out and what were you doing? When I'm the one watching out for the town, it's plenty my business.”
Kandy pulled a face, curse this town watch thing that Lucifer put into place, just so he could keep an eye on his demons. Not that he was doing a very good job of it, that Whitney was running amok all the time. “Goodness, put someone out to watch over the town and suddenly they think they're top dog.” She didn't realise how close to the truth that statement was, although had it been John, it really would have been, what with him being the alpha wolf. Jonah smirked, “Well, I am a wolf, so, you know. Still, you are not answering me, what are you doing out at this time?” She knew she was going to have to come up with some sort of excuse or he might not let it go and even then he probably wouldn't. “Well if you must know young man, I came out looking for my dog. He broke free of his leash and headed into the woods.” Jonah wasn't sure he believed that. Surely he would have heard a dog barking earlier in the night when she had supposedly taken it out?
In fact, he hadn't even seen her moving around, until he heard the rustling in the woods. It was almost like she had just turned up out of nowhere. He shook his head, “Nah, not buying that. I've been out there for about three hours now, in fact, my time was almost up, I ain't heard no dog barking or anything, never seen you until now. So, again, what were you doing out here?” He wasn't even sure he knew this person, it was the first time he had seen her. Pandora was a big place and new people seemed to arrive almost daily. The magic within Pandora meant that the town just grew with the new residents.
Kandy was getting annoyed now, why wouldn't he just take her word for it and leave alone? She didn't want to hurt him, but she would, if he wouldn't let this go. “I told you, I was looking for my dog. He's mute, that's why you didn't hear him. He doesn't bark.” She tilted her head to the side and smiled a little, but she was anything but happy. Jonah laughed, arms folded across his chest, “That's a new one, dog mute. Heard it all now.” Kandy glared at him, then being unable to control her emotions, her true eyes began to shine through, little black beads of coal. Jonah was quick to notice and even though he knew she would have been more than human being in Pandora, a demon was not what he had expected her to be. He knew how bothersome they could be, and so he began to slowly step away from her.
This made Kandy laugh, “That's right my dear boy, step away, you do not really want to mess with the likes of me.” She licked her lips as she said it, getting the scent of him, and the wolf within, was making her very hungry and a wolf would make a very tasty meal indeed. She hadn't had anything to eat since the night before and she had been out for a meal, but had yet to find one. She always tried to go for residents who hadn't been in Pandora for long, that way, they weren't classed as missing. But sometimes, sometimes, she got really annoyed by a long standing one and she just had to put them down and it also pacified her hunger, so it was a win win as far as she was concerned. Noticing that he was backing away a little, she smirked, “Not so brave now, are we young man?” She taunted, which made Jonah grunt, he wasn't scared of a stupid blonde, even if she was a demon. “Don't be so damn stupid, of course I'm not. I just don't like looking into the black pits of hell. I could take you in one lunge.” All he had to do was shift into wolf form and jump at her neck and rip her apart, and in order to protect Pandora, if it was necessary, it's what he would do.
Kandy laughed, she laughed so hard. Hearing the guy talk about her black pits of hell, referring to her eyes, for some reason she found it hilarious. However, in a flash, she stopped, and glared. “You have absolutely no idea who I even am, you foolish young man.” She stated, keeping her demon eyes on, and looking him up and down, taking him in, savouring the aroma that was coming from him. A nice tasty wolf meal, yes, she could see it coming. She kept tilting her head from left to right, taking him in, wondering what to do, the whole time, her black eyes, blinking every few seconds.
Jonah, was trying not to be petrified, but he hadn't been this close to a demon before, and not one that was coming over as terrifying as she was. Yet, he was a wolf, he was strong, there was no way he was going to be pushed about by a female, even if there was a demon consuming the bitch. “You don't scare me, not one little bit. You do know, that one lunge, and you'd be my meal?” Jonah taunted, growling, as he struggled to keep in check of his emotions and from fully shifting shape.
She smiled at him, but not in that welcoming way, in a very taunting way and shook her head. “You'll be mine before I'd be yours. You have no idea what I can do.” It was obvious that he hadn't seen her devour someone before, unlike the other wretched boy a week or so ago. The good thing was that Lucifer hadn't been able to work out who she was yet and that was just the way that she liked it. The spell was working and it was holding well. She hadn't been sure whether to trust that woman back in Luna Cove, but she done good. “You might be a demon, but I'd take you out in swift move.” He knew he probably shouldn't be goading her like that, but he honestly couldn't help it. She was infuriating. Kandy got closer to him, holding his gaze, black eyes still on show. “Is that right?” Kandy taunted right back. She put her hand into her pocket and began to play around with a vial that was in there. It was full of wolfsbane, and it was great for putting smart ass wolves like him in his place. Enough of it would make him writhe in pain, a lot of it, well, it would send him insane and to the point of becoming a feral wolf that will never revert back to human form. It wasn't the first time she had used it on one of these shifters.
For some reason, Jonah was beginning to feel a little uncomfortable, worried even. He noticed she was playing with something in her pocket. Yet, he didn't want to show that he was fearful. “What you got in there? I knew you were up to something and trouble. Show me what it is.” He tried demanding, arms still folded across his chest. Kandy got ever closer, “You really want to know?” She slowly brought it out, and flipped the lid off, to show an injection point. “It's wolfsbane and trust me, you don't want to find out what its like to have it administered.” Jonah stepped back, he knew exactly what that stuff was and he wasn't about to let her put it anywhere near him. Now, she had got him a little scared, not to the point of wanting to run away, but enough to try and step away from her, enough to maybe even just let her be.
She smirked, “As I thought. But you know, it's been a while, since I've had a bit of fun with this stuff, so...” She trailed off and then lunged at him, one arm firmly around his neck, and he struggled to break free, but fuck, she was strong. Stronger than your average demon as far as he could tell, as it wasn't the first time he had been able to toss one of them off him without any trouble in the past. She then inserted the needle into his neck and threw him aside, and stepped back to watch him. “There, that was easy. Now I'll just stand back and watch you slowly go mad.” His hand went up to the place she had jabbed him, “Fucking bitch.” He yelled, before he slumped to the ground feeling incredibly weak and feverish. He began to convulse on the ground. He knew that if he didn't get a blood transfusion to wash out the evil stuff, he would soon turn into wolf form permanently and be a blood thirsty one at that. He didn't want that, not for himself, or for anybody around Pandora.
Meanwhile Kandy stood over him, admiring her work. “How does it feel to know that in a matter of hours you will never be able to become a human again? That you will be a beast for all eternity, and quite probably kill your only brother and the rest of your pack, oh and just about everyone else in this god forsaken little town.” She sneered, forgetting all about her aged talk, no point in keeping up the old damsel persona any more, not now that he had figured out that she was a nasty old demon.
Even though he was shivering, and feeling extremely weak and unable to do anything to defend himself, he could still talk, through the chattering teeth. “I will end you. I can guarantee it, if I don't the rest of the pack will. They don't like their own being messed with. You wait and see.” Every word being broken with a sharp intake of breath. He had always been careful not to get in this sort of trouble. Jake would have nobody if he had to leave, or he died. Well, he guessed he did have Aurora and her family, but Jake would have no more of his own family left. “Well, I don't see anybody coming running, do you? You're out on patrol tonight, nobody will be missing you, oh dear, what a shame, how sad.” She put her hands up to her eyes and began to pretend to rub at them and then made mocking, boohoo noises. This was angering Jonah and yet the anger was draining his strength all the more. He could only lie there. She was right, nobody would come for him, except that he was due to change shift in the next half hour, so when he didn't go back to turn the baton over, so to speak, he'd soon be classed as missing.
Kandy kept looking down at him, he was a pathetic sight now, how strong he had been only a few moments earlier. Now, a waste of space lying on the ground, unable to move. She almost felt sorry for him, almost. She then leant down and straddled over him, and looked him up and down, “You know, if I weren't a nasty demon, I'd actually find you really really handsome, I might even be tempted to...” She trailed off and ran her tongue up and down his cheek, and continued, “...to date you and make you mine.” She cocked her head from side to side. She had all the power now, and he knew it.
When the wretched bitch licked his face with her tongue, he squirmed under the touch. It might have been a long time since he had been in a relationship, but this was not what he had in mind. Nothing worse then looking into those black pits of hell. Why were demon eyes always predominantly black? Yeah, he had seen Supernatural, where there was the one they called Old Yellow Eyes, but most of them were these onyx black and they made him shiver.
Now with the wolfsbane coursing through his veins, he felt like he was rooted to the spot. His body was like lead and weighing him down. He knew that in time, he would be in his wolf shape and that would be him permanently. He wasn't ready to live like that. He didn't want to become a blood thirsty beast. He liked living the way he currently did. He had always loved not being the type of werewolf that was slave to the moon. He loved being able to shift shape and have the wind blowing through his fur. But at least, he didn't have the need to kill, the need for fresh blood, because he still had his human form, and soul. This stuff would take that away from him and all that would be left, was a hungry beast. He'd sooner take his own life than become that.
Kandy couldn't help but look down at him and feel nothing but, well, nothing really. She was a demon, she never felt anything for anyone. “Are you feeling any more wolf like yet?” She taunted, smiling down at him, no, not smiling, smirking. He tried to talk, but as he was becoming more feverish and weak, the words came out in an inaudible warble of noise. “What was that? Speak up?” She laughed evilly then. She was quite possibly enjoying this a little bit too much. Inside Jonah was crumbling. He wanted to so much to rip her a new one, but he couldn't, he couldn't move. He knew if he went full on beast wolf he could take her, but then he would be a threat to everybody in Pandora, and he didn't want that.
Mustering all the strength that he had, he managed to scramble some words. “The wolves will kill you for this.” Every word was spoken in a broken sentence, and as the wolfsbane grew stronger within him, he was no longer in control of anything. His body began to change between wolf and human form, not fully forming wolf at all, so looking like a hideous lump on the ground. Kandy pouted and touched her lip with her finger, “Oh dear, you are in a bad way, shall I just put you out of your misery you little fluffy thing?” She taunted, and laughed, knowing that he was fully helpless to say anything back. Inside Jonah was screaming, yes, just fucking do it already, he was not prepared to live like this. Though he had expected her to watch him struggle for a lot longer, unless she was worried that he would go full wolf and kill her and she wouldn't want that.
Usually Kandy would have devoured him, but that would be such a waste, there would be no body left for the residents of Pandora to find. She had been good at not leaving any around, but now it was time to make it clear who she was and that she was here to cause as much trouble as possible until she was put down, if they ever found her, that was. With one swift movement, her hand becoming demon like with long black claw like fingernails, she shoved it right through his chest cavity, as Jonah let out a powerful wail and she pulled out his heart and, he became lifeless. She looked at it in her hand, admiring it for a few seconds, and then down the throat it went, this would have to satisfy her for her now. She then stood up, looked down and sighed, “What a waste, he could have been so good for me too. Oh well. Good night puppy, I do hope you find peace.” With that she walked away, head held high and back to her hiding place, leaving Jonah's dead body lying there for whoever was due out on patrol next, to find him.
