The next day, James had called Gabriel and asked if he could see him and he told him to come round when it suited him. Well, he wanted to get to the bottom of this Beth mystery sooner than later. He had left Ryan at the house, to keep an eye on her. He didn't trust her in the slightest. He was a bit annoyed Rori for thinking it perfectly fine to bring a stranger home, especially in the new world that they were currently getting themselves used to.
So, he was making his way to the Preston home while Ryder and Rori were off to see Sam about potions to stop the girl from being able to read all of their thoughts. He rang the doorbell and waited for it to be answered. Seconds later, Gabriel was standing in the doorway. He smiled brightly, “James, please, do come on in.” He stood back and allowed his new friend to come forward. Once they were both inside the lounge room, Lucifer spoke, “Can I get you a drink at all? Coffee, tea, something stronger perhaps?” James laughed a little, “Just a coffee thanks, really can't drink while I'm working, I'm just taking some time out to talk to you about something kind of important.” Lucifer raised his eyebrow, “Hmm, do tell, I rather like a bit of a juicy gossip, especially when it's to do with Pandora.” He went to the coffee machine, poured James a coffee and then shouted, “Cream, milk or sugar, or are you sweet enough?” He chuckled to himself, while James just shook his head, “Milk and two sugars please, definitely not sweet enough, thanks Gabriel.” Lucifer shuddered then, he really didn't like anybody calling him by that name. Yes, yes, it's the name of the person that he took over, hilarious, but to be called that, no, it just wouldn't do.
He took the mug of coffee out and handed it to James, “There we go and please, do call me Lucifer, I know I usually use my assumed name to introduce myself to strangers, but everyone here knows who I really am and the thought of being anything like dear old brother Gabriel, hell forbid.” He laughed a little then and James took the mug, “Well, thank you, Lucifer.” He then sat down, when Lucifer beckoned on him to do so, “Right, so, tell me, what is the important thing you had to come to me with? Is it one of my demons messing about? Please say it is, I'd quite like to go on a punishing spree.” James looked across at Lucifer with his eyebrow risen. It looked like he relished the idea of trouble in Pandora. Then again, he was the devil, of course he did. Still, to be fair to him, he was referring to punishing, so maybe he wasn't so bad after all, if he was all about keeping Pandora safe. James shrugged, “To be honest, I'm not sure. Rori came home with a friend from Luna Cove. A couple actually, one I approve of very much and another, I'm not so sure about. Turns out that I have a son, Aurora has a twin brother. I never knew about him, neither did she. Wife faked her death and cloaked our son so I never knew he existed. Some weird thing about keeping Aurora safe from some trials or rituals. Can't say I'm best happy, but anyway, that's not what I'm here about. I'm here about the other person she brought home with her.” As he had been talking, he noticed Lucifer putting his hand up.
“Wait, go back a little. You have a son? There's now another Campbell witch in this coven? Very interesting. Very interesting indeed. Sorry, carry on.” He tried to concentrate, but his attention was definitely elsewhere. The whole idea of there being another Campbell witch had definitely excited him. However, James carried on anyway. “There's a girl, that she brought with her. Her name is Beth Rooney. I just don't feel that I trust her. We can't get any negative thoughts from her at all. Isn't that strange? Usually someone has at least one negative thing running through their head at some point. It's like her mind has been messed with. To add to that, Rori got spooked through the night. She had a very vivid weird dream, that the woman that captured her had flamed hair and black eyes...” He trailed off, for Lucifer had put his hand up again and he sat forward, with his hands fingertip to fingertip. “Aurora was captured in Luna Cove? And she had a vivid dream of a woman with flared hair and black eyes? That can only be Camilla Wells. She's a dark arts witch and also a half demon. She is not to be messed with. How did Aurora get caught, do you know? Did she tell you?” James smiled a little, nodded, “Yeah, she got upset over the news that she had siblings she didn't know about and her mother still being alive and so she ran out of the diner away from Ryan who had gone with her.”
Lucifer picked up a glass of Scotch and downed it in one go, “This girl, did she come from the Wells Occult Organisation?” He asked, eyes flickering red slightly, which made James squirm a little. He nodded, “Yeah, she did.” Lucifer looked down and then back up, “I dare say she's trouble then. Nothing good comes from that place. My bet is that Camilla wanted to snare your daughter to do her bidding. Your daughter has very strong magic and Camilla wanted it. I can guarantee that girl will not be here without a reason. Why did Aurora bring her?” James sipped on his coffee a few times before replying. “Apparently she told Rori that she needed help, and that the woman had trapped her and never let her out. She wanted to get away from her.” Luci let those words swirl around inside his head. There was nothing to say that this wasn't the truth, but something deep inside told him, that she could be playing the Hanaway family. “I see. You have every right not to trust her. Aurora really needs to get better in tune with people who can be her enemies. So, do you want me to come and do my desire trick on her? It's a very neat one, I can find out someone's true desire, it can be a very big give away for what a person is truly thinking or wanting.” James remembered when Lucifer had done that on him on the very first day that he had met him. It had spooked him the way that he had just told him the answer without really wanting to. He had felt, powerless for want of a better description.
He smiled and nodded, “Yeah, if you could. Ryan found a hexed talisman under Rori's bed, and the only person in the house who would have done that, is Beth. I really don't trust her at all and I'm desperate to keep Rori safe.” Lucifer nodded, “I want to keep her safe too, you know that. Right, well, come along, let me see if I can find out her deepest desire, if for no other reason than to give peace of mind.” He stood up, and James finishing the rest of his coffee that had cooled a lot, did the same and followed him outside, making their way back to his home.

Rori opened the door to the shop which alerted Sam, and she came through from the back with a bright smile on her face which soon changed to puzzlement, at the young lad with her. “Rori, how lovely to see you again. Who's the handsome young man with you?” Ryder blushed furiously and Rori laughed, “Long story, but it is not my boyfriend.” She thought she would add that, and Sam laughed, “I know that, I know who Jake is, silly girl. I love long stories, so please, fill me in.”
So Rori and Ryder did just that and Sam's face was a delight and so excited at the prospect of another Campbell witch, that she clapped her hands together in an excited school girl way. “Oh my, this is amazing. So I don't have just one, but two Campbell witches to train? Amazing. I guess that's what you are here for?” Rori smiled, and shook her head, “Not really, not today, sorry. We were wondering if you could help us create a potion that could stop someone from reading our minds and thoughts? Not from each other, from someone specific, is that possible?” Sam locked the shop, and put the sign up to say that she'd be back within an hour or so and guided the both of them through to the back shop, where it was always better and more comfortable to talk business. “So, who is it that you don't want hearing your thoughts and why exactly? How many people do I have to make the potion for and how long does it need to last for?” All valid questions thought Rori. “I need it for myself, Ryder, dad and Ryan and hopefully as long as this person is around for.” So she then explained about Beth, and why she had brought her back to Pandora and what happened last night with her vivid dream. The whole time, Sam kept quiet, but nodding her head and smiling in all the right places. When Rori had finished, Sam spoke up.
“Right, I can see why you are wary, I would be too. However, it's not always easy to tell whether someone is lying or not. She could be taking a potion herself, which is stopping her negative thoughts, and possibly making her come over as more trustworthy. I can definitely work on a potion that could help you with that. However, in order to make it work only against her, I'd need some of her DNA, like a strand of her hair, don't suppose you thought to bring something like that? Even a hankie she's used, anything that would have her DNA on it.” Rori shook her head, she hadn't thought about that. “No, actually, I didn't think.” Ryder than stepped up, “Can I interject, I did. I had a feeling that in order to make something work specifically on her, that you'd need some of her DNA, grabbed some hair off of her pillow this morning when she was in the shower.” He handed the small clear bag with her hair over to Sam and she took it. “Fab, doesn't look like I need to teach you much. I don't know how long it will take me to make it, you can stay if you want, or you can go and get a milkshake or something and I'll call you when it's ready, whatever you are more comfortable with doing?” Rori shrugged and looked at Ryder, “What do you want to do?” He mimicked her movement and then smiled, “I could do with getting to know Pandora more, why not go and grab a milkshake and you can show me some of the place?” Rori grinned, “Good point. Call me when you have it ready then please Sam?” Sam smiled, “Of course. See you soon.” With that, both Rori and Ryder left Sam, and made their way towards the shopping mall, and entertainment complex.

With Ryan Branson & Beth Rooney played by Nathan Parsons & Dove Cameron .::.
Lucifer and James were now at the Hanaway home and James had told Ryan that if he had things to do, now would be a good time, while he and Lucifer were there with Beth. So Ryan gave a nod of his head and took his leave, but he didn't go far, instead, deciding to spend some time in his room. “I assume she'll be in the room that I made up for her.” James said to Lucifer, and he nodded. “Lead the way then.” He really hoped that this girl was trouble, just so that he could do something about it. He hadn't had to use his powers for some time because everything had been settled in Pandora, which was the way all the residents liked it to be fair.
So he followed James, and waited as the door was knocked upon, but there was no response. “Beth, are you inside.” James said, but nothing. He turned to look at Lucifer with a raised eyebrow. “Do you think that she's taken her leave somehow?” Luci asked, and James shrugged, “I'm not sure, I mean, if she had, Ryan would have said she'd left. So unless she's escaped from the window, I can't see how she could have left.” This made Luci raise his eyebrow now, as he frowned. James knocked on the door again, no answer. So he turned the handle, “I'm coming in.” He opened the door and the room was empty. Beth wasn't in there at all.
He turned, “So, she somehow left the room without Ryan noticing.” Then the curtain fluttered and he went across, the window was opened. “She's left through the window.” Damn it thought Luci, there went the opportunity to use his desire power. “Now what?” He asked, and James was kind of glad that Ryan had gone to his room rather then leave. “Ask Ryan if he knows anything.” So he knocked upon the door and Ryan opened it. “James, is there a problem?” James nodded, “You could say that, Beth has somehow managed to leave her room.” Ryan came out of his room and shut the door. “You kidding me man? I was alert the whole time, she never left through the front door, I assure you of that.” James patted his shoulder a little, “It's fine, she must have left out of the window as it was open. I'm just worried as to what that means.” Ryan rubbed at the back of his neck, “Ah, maybe she just went for a walk, but why go through the window, I have no idea. I mean, it's on the upper floor, not like she wouldn't have a drop.” He then had a thought, a lightbulb moment you could say, as he lifted his finger up, “Adam Hale. I bet he has something to do with it. Beth came from Wells Occult Organisation and I'm more than certain that Adam has dealings with that Wells woman, what if she somehow got a message to him to get to Beth?”
James looked at Ryan and shrugged, “It's possible, or Beth really is as untrusting as I felt and she's off to get Aurora herself. I'm glad that she has Ryder with her.” Ryan nodded. “I'll go and make sure that they are both safe if you want, or try to find Beth?” James patted him on the shoulder, “That would be great if you could my friend.” Ryan smiled, “Not a problem bro.” He grabbed his jacket and made his way out of the house and James and Lucifer returned to the lounge area. Rubbing his hands together, Luci said, “Is it just me, or do I see the makings of a perfect bromance there with Ryan? I mean, he's not a bad looking guy, if I wasn't straight...” He trailed off and chuckled a little at the look of horror on James's face. “I'm joking James, I'm joking.” However, Luci had made a pretty good point, he was getting on rather well with Ryan, “I suppose there's a friendship brewing there, yeah.” The two of them sat down and a few seconds later, the door was opened, and in walked Beth.
She smiled as she walked into the room, “Hey James. How are you? Who's this person with you?” She was acting as though she had just gone for a walk and had returned, which puzzled James a little. “Hello. We just went up to your room to talk with you but you weren't there. How did you leave as Ryan said you never left through the front door.” The smile slowly turned to one of confusion, “What do you mean? Of course I left through the front door. I needed a bit of fresh air. Ryan must have been asleep or something.” She shrugged and then laughed a little.
Lucifer wasn't convinced of this attitude at all. He could sense that she was hiding something or wasn't being quite honest with them. Time for him to spring into action. He sat forward, and made eye to eye connection with Beth, “So, tell me, what is it that you truly desire?” He asked her and she looked at him blankly, “To, I, to, never go, I...” She couldn't the words out properly and she looked puzzled, why couldn't she tell him what she wanted? This was annoying Luci, who said it again. “What is it that you truly desire Beth?” She looked down and then closed her eyes, fully concentrating, “To stay away from Camilla, she wants me to do bad things.” That had taken a lot out of her, she fell to the floor then, and James scooped her up and laid her on the sofa. “Well, that was weird, right?” James said to Luci and he nodded, “The fact that she struggled to tell me her desire was indeed strange. Something or someone is messing with this girl's mind somehow. People usually tell me their desire without hesitation.” He was looking over her and then he spotted it, “Look she has a bite on her neck.” Luci stood up and went over and gently moved her hair away to look more closely. “A vamp has gotten to her.”
James sighed and rubbed at the back of his neck, “She's like Rori, witch-fae, do you think that Adam got to her?” Luci narrowed his eyes and tilted his head to the side, “I do, I really bloody do. I also think that it's quite possible that she is brainwashed, maybe by Camilla. She doesn't want to do her biddings. Need to keep a very close eye on her, make sure she doesn't go anywhere, and if she does, not by herself.” James nodded, “That won't be a problem, I'll make sure Ryan keeps a good eye on her. I'll get locks put onto her bedroom windows and Ryder and Rori's. Now I'm not sure if the talisman was put there by Beth, or it was, but because she was controlled to do so.” Lucifer liked that idea, “I'll also get some hell hounds to guard your house, make sure that nobody comes in without being invited. If that Adam comes back, he will not know what's bloody hit him.” James smiled a little. “Can you get into her mind at all? I mean to see if she has negative thoughts, or if something is blocking them?” He was an angel, surely if anyone could do that, it could be him.
Lucifer put his hands on either side of Beth's head, “I'll try, but maybe one of my brothers might be better, one who hasn't fallen. I do have some of my angelic powers, so...” He closed his eyes, and tried to get into her Beth's head. Surprisingly, his powers were working just as they would have had he not fallen. “Bloody hell, that girl's mind is a jigsaw of messed up mayhem. Someone has screwed with her royally. It also means that she could turn on you at any moment. So you need to be prepared for that, but whatever happens, I can tell you it's not of her own volition.” He removed his hands in time, just for Beth to come around from fainting before. She looked around, “What happened?” James smiled a little, “You fainted hon. You'll be alright. I'll make you a tea if you like.” She shook her head, “No, it's fine, thanks. I'm tired, I think I'll just go and get some sleep.” She then made her way to her bedroom and collapsed onto the bed, feeling completely drained of her energy.
Luci looked at James, “You might be best not having her live with you, but I understand that there's not many options for her. So, I'll so as I said before and get the house guarded with hell hounds. Get locks on the windows so they can't be opened from the outside and I'd see if you can get some sort of potion to make you and the rest of you protected against her from reading your minds.” Thankfully that's what Ryder and Aurora were off to do. “I will and the potion thing is already under hand. Ryder and Rori are talking to Sam about that.” Luci nodded and smiled, “Splendid. I'll go and get these hell hounds sorted. They won't be visible to anybody, but they'll be there and they'll only be seen when they have to attack. It might also be advantageous for Rori to have her boyfriend Jake living with you as well. An actual wolf might be enough to put off any potential danger if they sniff them out.” He then left James to mull that over.

Ryder and Rori were almost finished their milkshakes when she got a text alert from Sam to say that she had the potions finished for them to take. “That's Sam ready.” She finished her drink as did Ryder, and then they made their way back to Sam's shop. When they walked in, Sam smiled, “There you go. This should get you all going for a good month, if you don't get what's going on sorted in that time, I'll make you up some more. Two drops in a drink once a day, preferably in the morning, should keep you right, but I'd start with the first dose almost right away.” She then handed them over a small box that had several vials of potion inside of it, one for each of them.
“Thank you so much Sam, we appreciate this.” Sam grinned, “No problem. So, am I going to have two witches to teach in the art of potion making? If so, when are we starting?” Rori laughed, and Ryder smiled, “I'm free whenever Rori is.” Rori grinned, “How about the weekend? Every Saturday? That would work for me.” Ryder smiled, “Sounds good to me. I can't wait. I actually don't much about my witch side, Tabby was the one that got the focus on her, but I picked up on it simply by watching her, mom and grandma.” Just hearing Ryder say mom made Rori smart a little. She still wasn't happy that she had been kept away from her twin and had grown thinking that her mother was dead, but then, Ryder thought that his dad was dead, so he'd had it just as bad as she had. Sam clapped her hands together, “Every Saturday, that's settled then. I look forward to it my little Campbell students, or should that be Hanaway students, or how about Campbellway students?” She laughed a little. “Hanaway students, please. I'm not going by Campbell from now on.” Ryder said, as he put his arm around his twin, “I'm a Hanaway, always have been and always will be.” Rori fell into the embrace, “I like that, Hanaway students.” She then took her brother's hands in her own and closed her eyes, and thought of snow, just like Nick had said that she could do and true enough, when she opened, they had snow falling around them.
Sam smiled and applauded, “Now that's true magic, you both have a gift. You know, you might be a Gemini Twins.” Sam offered, which made them break apart and the snow stopped. “What is that?” Asked Rori. Sam smiled, “Gemini Twins, are a set of twins bound by magic, they are strong along, but together, they are unbreakable. Some are meant to unite their magic, become one and if both are strong, they can do it, but if one is slightly weaker than the other, the stronger one takes it all, and the weaker one usually dies. Usually most of them don't take the risk however, and don't unite. But some covens enforce it. That's what's worrying about it if you are, I can imagine the Campbell Coven would be the very type to want to enforce it. So, I'd either look into it, or just stay as you are.” Rori looked at Ryder and he looked at Sam, “I'm happy as we are, nobody needs to do any uniting to try and get more power. I only just found my sister, not going to do anything to jeopardise what we have.” Rori smiled, “Feel the same way. Anyway, we'll see you on Saturday Sam.” She gave her a hug and then she and Ryder were on their way back home with the potions.

When Lucifer left James's home, he did as he said he would, and got the hell hounds organised to sit outside their home. He was also going to make it his mission to hunt down this Adam Hale, that one that had attacked Rori that night. He was certain that he had something to do with Beth's mind having been messed about with. Of course it would have likely come through that Wells woman. That woman could make her way to Pandora, but she'd not be able to leave again, because she was part demon and she wouldn't want to get stuck here, not with him around. He needed to have a little word in Adam's ear, a little question needed to be asked. Nobody messes around with his Campbell witches, not even one of his pesky little demons and most definitely not a half breed.
Ryan hadn't been able to locate Ryan anywhere which annoyed him, as he was certain that he had something to do with it all. He was connected to Wells Occult Organisation and he would be able to tell instantly if he had been lying. He just hoped that he hadn't since been given a cloaking spell from Camilla or someone else who could come and go from Pandora. If that was the case, then they were going to be in trouble. They already had Lilith under one, or so they thought, since Lucifer couldn't sense her around. Now he had to go back to the Hanaway home with no news to report and it was frustrating him.
Rori and Ryder had the potions and were now making their way home. Several moments later and they were both making their way into the lounge where their dad was pacing back and forth, clearly something bothering him. “What is it dad?” Rori asked, and he looked up, “Oh hey sweetheart. Gabriel, no, Lucifer, he wants us to call him that, he came round earlier. Tried his desire mojo on Beth. She said she wanted to stay safe from that woman as she wanted her to do bad things. She seemed to find it really hard to tell Lucifer that though, like she's being controlled. She passed out and when she did, Lucifer put his hands on her head and managed to delve inside. Apparently she's been messed with, and that we have to be careful, as she might turn on us. We think that maybe Camilla or that Adam is controlling her. Lucifer said that he is going to get hell hounds placed outside our home to guard us and that you should have Jake stay here for extra precaution. I think so too. I can't ask her to go as then she will know that we're not trusting her and that could trigger her, so we need to act as normally as possible. Did you get a potion from Sam at all?” Rori smiled and handed over the box of vials. “She said that there would be enough to keep us all going for a couple of months. To ask if we need more. We only need two drops in a drink. I have a vial for each of us. She said to take two drops in a drink right away but after that to take it in the morning each day.”
James nodded and gave her a bit of a smile. “I'm worried, I mean the girl clearly can't remember any of the wrong things that she is doing. She wanted to leave, but did she? Or was that Camilla woman getting into her head making her think she wanted to leave, so that at some point, she'd trigger her to try and get into your head?” Ryder walked forward and put his hand on James's arm, “Father, calm down. It's going to be fine. Rori has me, you, Jake, heck she even has the devil on her side. If Beth was to try anything, she'd soon be put in her place, and you know it. Hopefully we will get to the bottom of who is controlling her before anything should happen though.” James put his hand on top of his son's and patted it, “Yeah, yeah. Damn, it's good to have a son, I'm sorry that you were never a part of our lives for so long. We will make up for that, when things are less weird here, I promise.” Ryder smiled and nodded. He knew that was true, they'd have plenty time to get to know one another. Right now they had more pressing matters at hand.
Ryan then returned home, and looked glum when he entered the lounge to join the rest of the guys. “Sorry, couldn't find that bastard. I'm worried that he's got a cloaking spell on him. I wanted to find out if he was working with that evil bitch.” James put his hand on his shoulder, “It's fine, you did what you could and we appreciate it. Lucifer has put hound hells outside to protect the house. I'm sure he'll soon be able to find Adam and if not him, he'll be able to talk with Camilla. She's half demon and you know Lucifer doesn't like it when his demons mess up and he is especially not happy that it's involving Rori, a Campbell witch. He's highly protective of the Campbell witches it would seem.” Ryan nodded, “Yeah, it's not like Ro doesn't have enough people looking out for her.” He then turned to Rori, “Hey how did you get on with Sam, did you get anything we can take to block our minds to Beth?”
Rori smiled and nodded, “Yeah, dad's holding them. We need to take two drops in a drink, particularly in the morning, but we should take two immediately Sam says. I'll go and make us some hot chocolate, and I better ask her to make up another vial for Jake, as if he's staying here, she'll need to keep out of his head also.” A few moments later, she came through with a tray of mugs full of steaming hot chocolate, and they all took a mug each, put two drops of their potion in and began to sip on it.
About twenty minutes later, Rori sent a text to Jake, with a very quick explanation as to why, but could he come and live with them for the foreseeable. He didn't waste a second in replying and agreeing. “Jake says he'll be only too happy to stay with us. I'll go and make up a room for him.” As she stood up, James stopped her, “No, he's sleeping with you You're old enough now to share a bed and a room and I want him with as close as possible, got it kiddo?” The colour boomed in Rori's cheeks, it's not every day that a daughter's father gives blessing for her boyfriend to sleep with her after all. Still, she was nineteen and would be an adult in a few months time and this was her final year at school. So, he was right, she was an adult. “Okay, if you're sure you are sure, I mean, I am your daughter, your only daughter, and you're a dad, you're meant to be against that kind of thing.” She said, trying to keep a straight face, but James just shook his head and chuckled, “Yes, well, Jake's a decent lad and you need the protection, going to have to let you go at some point, ain't I?” Rori giggled, “I guess so.” A few moments later, Jake had arrived and they both made their way to the room, with Ryder following suit to his own.
It left Ryan and James alone. “Earlier when Beth came back from mysteriously disappearing, she said she had gone for a walk and left through the front door.” James said, looking across at Ryan. This made him frown and rub at his neck, “I swear man, she didn't. I was sat here so that I could see her if she came down the stairs. I'm going to take a guess that Adam came and somehow managed to get her out of the window to talk to her.” James nodded, “I think you're right actually, because Lucifer noticed a couple of small hole wounds in her neck. Like she had been bitten by a vampire, she also got very weak when she tried to answer his desire question as it wasn't coming out as easily as it should. She fainted after it and that's when Lucifer noticed the holes.” Ryan sat forward and sighed, “Sounds to me as though she is being controlled or brainwashed somehow and it's quite possible that Camilla has allowed him to feed on her, so long as he doesn't drain her each time, so she can build her essence back up again. All of this just to get to Rori. I swear James, I will kill that bastard when I get my hands on him.” He tilted his head to the side and chuckled a little, realising how awful that would sound to a sheriff.
“Probably not what I should be saying to you.” James put his hand up and chuckled, “Hey, thinking the same thing myself, especially when it's my daughter that is the target here, but I will pretend I didn't hear that, just in case he does indeed turn up dead.” He chuckled some more and then stifled a yawn. “Well, I best head to bed, it's been a bit of a day. Night Ryan.” Ryan stood up, and stretched, “Yeah me too bro. Night.”
